Soprano Samantha Britt is equally comfortable in opera and musical theater, whether singing classic repertoire or new works. She has sung on major stages throughout Europe and the USA, under the guidance of notable conductors such as Anton Coppola and Christopher Ward. Samantha recently performed in the world premiere opera co-produced by Berlin Staatsoper unter den Linden and Grand Théâtre de Genève, Peter Eötvös’s Sleepless, which will return to Berlin Staatsoper this June. She previously performed at Berlin Staatsoper in Jörg Widmann’s Babylon and at Deutsche Oper Berlin in Benjamin Britten’s Death in Venice. Samantha has won many awards and distinctions, including the International Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg Competition, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions Boston District, and the Career Bridges Grant. Originally from New York, she currently lives in Berlin, where she teaches private voice and piano lessons and she offers vocal training to the members of the Straßenchor Berlin.
